Tony Iommi is getting stronger after taking some time off from the music industry.

In the past months, Iommi has been focusing on different projects as he deals with health issues following his lymphoma diagnosis in 2012. He was in remission a few years later, but he still underwent a procedure to remove a non-cancerous lump in his throat.

Although he was busy in 2022, Iommi only had a few gigs as a soloist and with Black Sabbath. But he immediately brought good news as he welcomed the new year, saying he is preparing to write another album.

On his official YouTube channel, the 74-year-old shared an 8-minute video in which he reminisced about all his works in the past months. He also took his time to surprise everyone with an update regarding upcoming music.

According to Iommi, he has been writing and recording while building his new studio unit. He revealed he was just waiting for equipment to arrive after they got delayed because of the war in Ukraine.

"In another couple of weeks, I think I'll be ready to go in and start work in there, which I'm really looking forward to - writing another album," he said. "[In 2023], of course, we're gonna have the Tony Martin box set and Cozy Powell and Neil Murray. And I'm looking forward to that because a lot of people have asked about that, which is great."

Iommi also talked about "the original Sabbath stuff," which would make him busier than ever.

He and Ozzy Osbourne reunited at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, alongside Adam Wakeman and drummer Tommy Clufetos.

The musician did not reveal whether the band would also have a tour. The members have not had any concerts since Black Sabbath's "The End" following his cancer diagnosis.

Black Sabbath's Albums With Tony Martin To Be Reissued

Aside from Iommi's solo plans, he also revealed that Black Sabbath's albums recorded with Tony Martin would be reissued this year.

He shared on Twitter that the project would be a tribute to Martin's great playing. Martin, on the other hand, shared a similar sentiment during his recent interview with The Metal Voice.

"Honestly, I have no idea what's happening with it. I know it's gonna be next year, but that's all I know," he said.

Overall, Black Sabbath released six albums with Martin on vocals - five records and the 1995 live release of "Cross Purposes Live."
