Lewis Capaldi is making rounds online after he was mistaken for another singer who's decades older than him and his response on social media was hilarious.

According to Billboard, the comparison began on New Year's Eve after the musician took the stage of BBC's Hogmanay celebrations.

Right after the concert, a fan took to TikTok to let the Scottish artist about their father's thoughts upon seeing him on television, writing, "Lewis, my dad saw you on TV and thought you were Susan Boyle."

Capaldi took the joke lightly and decided to respond to the comment by posting a video of himself acting like he was emotional while his song "Pointless" plays in the background.

"i dreamed a dream that ppl stopped telling me i looked like women in their 60s," he wrote in the caption, referencing Susan Boyle's popular "Britain's Got Talent" audition piece "I Dreamed a Dream."

As of this writing, the former talent show contestant has not publicly commented on the matter.

Lewis Capaldi Updates

After years of waiting, Lewis Capaldi is finally releasing his highly-anticipated sophomore album titled "Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent" on May 19, 2023.

In early reports, the 26-year-old musician spoke to "Diary of A CEO" with Steven Bartlett to reveal why it took him so long to create the follow-up to his 2019 project "Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent," saying he hates recording albums.

"I only do all that stuff because playing live is just f****** unparallel thing that you can compare to everything else, and that was making me feel s***. Like, f***, I don't know if I can do this s**t anymore," he said.

In other updates, Capaldi will be going on tour across the United Kingdom and Europe this month including the massive Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany, that could hold up to 17,000 concertgoers.

However, he told BBC Radio 2 that the show in Germany is not selling well because people there are "really not vibing with my music."

"The show in Berlin is 17,000 people, that's what the arena can hold, and I have sold 1,373 tickets. Come on Germany. Get off your backsides and do something!" he said.

The tour would kick off at First Direct Arena in Leeds on January 14, before performing in other cities like Copenhagen, Oslo, Milan, Zurich, Hamburg, Prague, Vienna, Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, and many more.

Tickets are available via Ticketmaster UK.
