Before releasing her most recent single, "Flowers," Miley Cyrus allegedly tried to reach out to her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

Given all the hints that the song alluded to the "Hunger Games" star, many fans think it was a jab at him.

The former Disney Channel actress sings about how she first didn't want to go but soon understood that she could buy her own flowers rather than relying on someone else to do it.

Sources said that Miley tried to talk to Liam a few times but that each time she did so, she was ignored and rejected.

"Miley wants to conduct some emotional healing and had thought she and Liam might find a way to be friends," the source who spoke to Radar Online said.

But Liam doesn't even answer her calls, and he's made it clear to her through others that he doesn't want to speak to her.

The informant said that the ex-"Hannah Montana" star purchased the $8 million Malibu residence where Liam used to hang out.

"I believe that now, bumping into Miley at the grocery store is Liam's greatest nightmare."

In 2019, after more than 10 years of dating and less than a year of marriage, Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce from Miley Cyrus.

Their divorce was finalized on January 2020.

They signed a prenuptial agreement before getting married, which discussed the specifics in the case of a divorce, and in Liam's petition, he claimed they have "irreconcilable differences."

Insiders said that the Australian hottie was "over the marriage" and didn't want to interact with Miley at that time. A few days later, the pop diva was photographed having sex with Kaitlynn Carter, who was then her girlfriend.

However, Liam has been dating model Gabriella Brooks since the beginning of this year.

Miley Cyrus 'Flowers' Easter Eggs

The song "Flowers" was released on January 12, which was Liam Hemsworth's birthday in the US, but it was already January 13 in Australia. This is the first obvious Easter egg.

Regarding their shared Malibu home, which was destroyed in a 2018 wildfire, Miley sung about creating a house and then watching it burn in the second easter egg.

Fans noted that the song's chorus appeared to clearly reference Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man," a ballad about the one who went away.

There was a story that Liam had once dedicated the song to her, however as of this writing, it is still only a rumor.
