Elvis Presley's final words to Lisa Marie Presley are gaining the spotlight again after the latter's death.

The King of Rock and Roll died on Aug. 16, 1977, following a cardiac arrest. Decades later, his only daughter suffered the same health issue and died on Jan. 12.

Before Lisa Marie's untimely passing, she once revealed her father's final words to her before he died.

In a 2012 interview (via Express UK), Lisa tried to look back on that heartbreaking day, although she said she never wanted to talk about it.

"It was August 16th, at 4am. I was supposed to be asleep, actually. He found me, you know," she said.

Elvis, who was having trouble sleeping at that time, talked to her and told her to "go to bed." Lisa Marie, in response to her father's gesture, smiled and said, "Okay."

The late rocker tucked her into bed and kissed her goodnight before leaving the room. Unfortunately, that was the last time she saw him alive.

A few hours later, Lisa Marie woke up after hearing noises inside the house. She noted that her room was next to her father's bathroom, where he was found unresponsive.

The adult Lisa Marie then said her younger self could not understand what was happening to Elvis at that time. For her, the occurrence was a bit confusing.

Priscilla Presley Recalled Seeing "Clueless" Lisa Marie Presley

In her memoir "Elvis and Me," Priscilla recalled seeing Lisa Marie playing with the golf cart Elvis had given her. The matriarch said she was amazed she could still play at that time.

But when she talked to her daughter, she realized that she still had no idea what had happened despite seeing the paramedics rushing the rocker away.

"I was really at a loss for words," Priscilla said. "She was our child. It was difficult enough for me to believe and confront Elvis's death myself. I just didn't know how to tell her that she would never see her daddy again. I nodded, then took her into my arms."

After talking to her, Priscilla hugged Lisa Marie and saw her play again.

Lisa Marie has been buried across her father's remains at the Graceland. Her family arranged a memorial service for her over the weekend and welcomed several guests who wanted to honor her, including former Memphis Mayor A C Wharton, Duchess Sarah Ferguson, manager Jerry Schilling, and Joel Weinshanker.
