Since her huge release last December 2022, SZA has been reaching for the stars as her sophomore album, "SOS," continued to make strides commercially and culturally.

SZA's "SOS" was her first album in almost six years, the follow-up to her Grammy-nominated album "Ctrl."

Now, according to Billboard, the album has managed to spend a seventh week at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The album reaches an especially important milestone as it becomes the longest-running #1 R&B album on the chart since 1987. The last album to have spent this many weeks on the chart was Whitney Houston's self-titled album "Whitney," which spent eleven weeks atop. "Whitney" was also considered the first R&B album by a woman to debut atop the genre-blending charts at the time.

Meanwhile, it was Drake's "Views" was the last R&B album to have spent seven weeks on the chart's summit in 2016, spending nine weeks atop.

Luminate reports that "SOS" has logged 111,000 album equivalent units. 109,500 of those were streaming equivalent units, equating to 148.87 million official streams from all of the tracks combined. Meanwhile, 1,000 album sales comprised the remaining along with 500 track equivalent units.

The publication also noted that SZA was the third female artist in the industry to have spent seven weeks atop the chart in the last 20 years. Adele's "25" ruled from 2015 to 2016, while Taylor Swift's "Folklore" was the last one, which spent eight weeks in 2020.

Aside from this, only two albums have spent seven weeks atop the charts since last year - Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti" and the "Encanto (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)" which stayed on the charts for 13 and nine nonconsecutive weeks, respectively.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's "Midnights" was a non-mover at No. 2 as it reaped 67,000 album equivalent units on its 14-week stay at the Top 2. Trippie Redd's "Mansion Muzik" opened at No. 3, which earned him his seventh top 10-charting album.

"The Mockingbird & The Crow" by HARDY landed No. 4, which is now the first Top 10 album of his career.

"Heroes & Villains" sits on No. 5, while "Her Loss" plummeted to No. 6, "Un Verano Sin Ti" dipped to No. 7, while "Dangerous: The Double Album" moved to No. 8. "American Heartbreak" also moved to No. 9, while "It's Only Me" rounded up the tenth spot of the Feb. 4, 2023-dated Billboard 200 chart.
