Doja Cat has been one of the most celebrated artists in the past few years. Gaining widespread popularity and critical acclaim in the industry for her hits like "Say So," "Kiss Me More, and "Woman."

Most recently, Doja celebrated the triumph of the movie "Elvis," as her song "Vegas" was prominently featured in the film.

Reflecting on the success, Doja had this to say about the experience working with the song and the team: "That was one of the greatest experiences because everyone knows 'Hound Dog'."

Doja famously interpolated Elvis' "Hound Dog" in the new track. Although the song was a huge hit, it did not earn a Best Original Song nod at the Oscars because of technicality. But nonetheless, Doja was still proud of it.

"But I was able to give it my own spin. I went in and I was like, 'Finally, I get to rap again.' A lot of people discredit me, so it's nice to just put another one in the fucking bucket for a great rap song."

In the past, Doja Cat has received flak for considering herself a rapper rather than a pop singer. She was also discredited as an R&B artist for having sung more pop songs than R&B.

According to Variety, Doja was aware that she could not blame the solid hip-hop fans for being unimpressed with her.

"I just got an award [from iHeartRadio] for a billion spins on the radio," she further celebrated. "So with that alone, I'm constantly being shoved down people's throats. I would be upset if I saw somebody who has kind of been fed to me as this pop-star girl with a fat ass making it to this level of rap icon, after I've only been watching them do disco shit and pop shit all the time," she furthered.

Meanwhile, Doja Cat is big this year at the 65th Grammys. Her song "Woman" was nominated for Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video. "Vegas," on the other hand, is nominated for Best Rap Performance - a testament to Doja cat being a good rapper. Her collaboration with Post Malone, " I Like You (A Happier Song), has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
