Thanks to "Mainstream Sellout," Machine Gun Kelly scored his first Grammy Award nomination in almost 17 years of his musical career.

His most recent album, "Mainstream Sellout," has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, going against rock giants like Ozzy Osbourne and other veterans like Elvis Costello, IDLES, The Black Keys, and Spoon.

"Mainstream Sellout" ruled both Billboard 200, the US Top Alternative Albums, and the US Top Rock Albums, for weeks since its release in March 2022, debuting with 93,000 album equivalent units.

The album was also MGK's introduction to the rock genre following his big shift to the genre starting from his 2020 album, "Tickets to my Downfall." It also marked the second collaborative album MGK had with Travis Barker, with "Tickets to my Downfall" being the first one.

At the 2023 Grammy Awards, Machine Gun Kelly went with her wife, actress Megan Fox. Strutting the red carpet together, the two looked beautiful in silver and white as they attended the event.

However, during the premiere ceremony that happened on the main telecast where the Rock Categories were announced, Machine Gun Kelly failed his bid to earn his very first Grammy nomination.

Because of this, his wife, Megan Fox, penned a thoughtful message congratulating his husband, who was included in the "very small percentage of artists who have received a Grammy nomination."

"You have handled this process with a grace and maturity that I haven't seen from you before and I'm so proud of you. Watching you walk in humility and gratitude, watching you grow into yourself and become a better man is an immeasurably more satisfying experience than watching you accept an award," Fox wrote.

Osbourne took home the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album for "Patient Number 9," beating Machine Gun Kelly and the other nominees in the category.

But for Machine Gun Kelly, the night still went very well despite the loss, as he was in company with such huge musicians.

"I didn't take the category home, and I almost feel like I asked for that lesson. Like, I felt like I lacked self-love, and I was valuing myself so much on career accomplishments that I needed this. The car ride here was very cathartic for me ... I need to appreciate what I already have, and once that self-love happens for me, things like the awards and all that will come," he told E! News.
