Last month, Paramore debuted their song "C'est Comme Ca," which sounded familiar to die-hard music fans.

The beginning chord progressions of Paramore's new song and Staines indie rockers, Hard-Fi, and their 2006 hit, "Hard To Beat," fans thought.

The parallels have been handled in an uncertain manner by the British musicians.

A fan even proposed that they sue Paramore singers Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Zac Farro only because their song "flopped."

"The song flopped so y'all wouldn't get that much money, but still," one Twitter user said.

Hard-Fi then quoted the tweet and answered with a single emoji, an ashamed one.

While no collaborations between the two bands are on the horizon, Hayley has spoken out about her admiration for Shame, stating that she hopes to play gigs with them in the future.

Shame is a South London-based English post-punk band that released their debut album in January 2018.

In an interview with The Guardian, the Tennessee native expressed her admiration for Shame's songs, claiming that there is a lot of "excellent punk music" coming out of the UK, which she described as "youthful and lively."

"When you listen to them, you really enter into their world, their headspace, and I love that."

Did Paramore Plagiarize 'C'est Comme Ca'?

Hayley Williams previously cited Yard Act and Dry Cleaning as sources of inspiration for their song "C'est Comme Ca," which she characterized as "trying to get un-addicted to survival" story.

In a press release, the front woman of the hit band said, "The idea of imminent doom is less catastrophic to me than not knowing anything about the future or my part in it."

"The guys and I are all in much more stable places in our lives than ever before. And somehow that is harder for me to adjust to."

"C'est Comme Ca" is the third song from Paramore's sixth album, "This Is Why," released on February 10, 2023.
