Ozzy Osbourne is yet to give his decades-old gift to fans after announcing his touring retirement.

Amid Osbourne's health issues, his collaborator Steve Vai recently spoke up about recording an entire unreleased album with the Prince of Darkness decades ago.

He is referring to the music project they had in 1995. At that time, they were tasked to collaborate on a song for Osbourne's seventh album, "Ozzmosis."

During his recent interview with the Iris website Eonmusic, Vai was asked about his thoughts regarding Ozzy Osbourne's retirement from touring. The topic led him to bring up the unreleased album they worked on together.

"Well, I'm sitting on a whole Ozzy record, and it's like the Gash record - not 'like' the Gash record - but it's a project that I recorded that's sitting on the shelf," he said. "I don't have any control over it or rights to it, obviously, but we did record some pretty good stuff."

Vai revealed that the guitar perspective on the album is all his rhythm guitar parts, during which he used an octave divider.

He then recalled how the project was made, noting that Osbourne recorded half his 1995 album for the record company. The Black Sabbath member's wife Sharon and the label reportedly wanted to get different songwriters to do more songs, and Vai ended up being one of them.

As a result, he "borrowed" some of the songs from his "Gash" record to complete the album.

It remains unknown whether Osbourne will release the album soon.

Ozzy Osbourne Announces Retirement From Touring

Vai's revelation came after Osbourne announced his retirement amid his health issues.

He disclosed in a lengthy Twitter post that his body got physically weak due to the three operations he went through: stem cell treatments, physical therapy sessions, and Cybernics (HAL) Treatment.

"Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way," he said. "My team is currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country."
