Since Madonna was one of the biggest pop stars during the 80s, many people who grew up in that generation looked up to her, including celebrities like Pink. However, the musician recently exposed the singer almost two decades after their first encounter.

Speaking to SiriusXM's "The Howard Stern Show" earlier this week, the "TRUSTFALL" hitmaker explained that she had a fangirl moment during her appearance at the "Live with Regis and Kelly" show where the queen of pop was also present.

The songwriter went on to share the "silly story" of their first meet-up, saying she was an inspiration to her and loves her "no matter what," but her perception of the pop legend "got twisted" after she got invited into her dressing room.

A few moments later, host Regis Philbin brought her out to the stage for an interview and told her, "I heard you were just falling over yourself backstage. How does it feel?" to which the musician joked, "I thought she wanted to meet me." (via Page Six)

Despite the joke being harmless, Pink noted that she thinks her punchline didn't sit well with Madonna, adding she took it "personally."

"Some people just don't like me," the musician further explained before noting she's a "polarizing individual."

As of this writing, Madonna has yet to comment on the matter

Pink Was Supposed to be a Part of Madonna's Infamous 2003 VMA Performance

In a recent interview with KTU 103.5, as reported by Billboard, Pink noted that the pop star wanted her to be a part of her infamous VMAs performance where she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

"I think Madonna wanted to kiss all of us," she said.

However, the "True Love" hitmaker was in Costa Rica with her boyfriend Carey Hart at the time, leading her to not attend the awards show. She also revealed that Gwen Stefani was also invited to join the trio on stage.

If ever she was able to perform with the musicians during the iconic set, Pink said it was going to be a party but a "weird" one.

In other reports, Jennifer Lopez also revealed last month that she was also invited to be a part of the show too and she was able to meet up with Spears and Madonna at her home to discuss the performance.

However, she wasn't able to attend as she was filming a movie at the time.
