Last year's edition of Rolling Loud saw Nicki Minaj making history for being the first female headliner at their New York venue. This year, the queen of rap made her comeback at the Los Angeles installment as a surprise guest but things got out of hand due to some problems.

According to Uproxx, the "Super Freaky Girl" hitmaker was Lil Wayne's surprise guest for his headlining set. For her performance, the musician planned to take a trip to her years-long music catalog by playing old and new tracks, but her set was met with technical difficulties.

Upon announcing that she would take the stage, fans were immediately sent into a frenzy but as the audience heats up, Minaj was also heating up in an angry way as she became frustrated over the DJ and the sound guy.

The outlet noted that the person responsible for her backtrack struggled to play her planned set list, which was apparent as the instrumental versions of her songs kept on skipping.

Lil Wayne attempted to brush off the technical problems by dancing over the failed audio, but the female rapper was not having it, leading her to blurt out, "kill the DJ. Kill the sound guy."

Following this, one fan who claimed to be one of the attendees of the show took to Twitter to explain what happened during the show, saying it wasn't the DJ's fault.

"It sounded like someone from the sound team was cueing the music, at least for her set. He had zero issues during Wayne's set, and peep how it sounds as if they're skipping thru songs on an iPad vs how DJs drop them in. Ehh," the user wrote.

After her performance, Minaj took to her Instagram Live to address the issue, saying the "sound situation was unacceptable" and she apologized for what happened as she was only a special guest.

Explaining what happened during the show, the rapper noted there was a mix-up between her and Lil Wayne's sound crew.

The recent performance comes a few days after the musician dropped her first single of 2023 titled "Red Ruby Da Sleeze," the follow-up to her smash 2022 hit "Super Freaky Girl."

Fans were thrilled to get new material from the legendary rapper as this was her second solo single in a while. Last year, the "Starships" hitmaker collaborated with other artists like Youngboy Never Broke Again for "I Admit" and "Tukoh Taka," Com Leray" for "Blick Blick," and more."
