Tems, a Nigerian singer-songwriter, had fans pushing for her to receive the "Award For Most Selfish Person" following her ridiculous attire at the 2023 Oscars event.
The singer, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, stole the show, at least for the guests in the audience.
Social media users chastised the singer when her lavish dress obscured the vision of fellow Academy Award guests at Sunday's ceremony.
Tems, who was nominated for Best Original Music for the song "Lift Me Up" from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," donned a fluffy white gown that curled over the back of her head.
Although Tems looked gorgeous on the red carpet, her gown was perhaps less popular among those in the Dolby Theater.
Images of the "Crazy Tings" singer sticking out in the throng quickly went viral on the internet.
"Lovely but totally messed up for anyone is sitting behind her. I would be upset," one user remarked.
Another user added, "Wow. Wins the Oscar for most selfish person at an award event," after watching an attendee craning his neck under Tems' puffy outfit to see the stage.
A third person on social media even compared her clothing to "old rags."
"I'd be sooo upset if this gigantic piece of white tule head thing was obstructing my view of the whole Oscars," a fourth Twitter user added.

Who Is Tems?
Tems is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer who rose to prominence with her first hit, "Mr Rebel," in 2018.
She has since recorded numerous popular songs and worked with several well-known Nigerian musicians, including Wizkid and Fireboy DML.
Tems is well-known for her distinctive sound and style, which combines R&B, soul, and Afrobeat.

The song "Naatu Naatu" from the Telugu-language film "RRR" became the year's first Indian film song to win an Oscar.
When accepting his Oscar for it, composer M. M. Keervani said that the song is "the pride of every Indian."
Meanwhile, the song's performer, Kaala Bhairava, told The Hollywood Reporter, "That's the most lovely portion of the Oscars."
"People from all over the world coming together, representing their own culture and their own art forms and being appreciated by people from other countries and communities."
Other songs such as "Applause" from the movie "Tell It Like A Woman," "Hold My Hand" from the movie "Top Gun: Maverick" and "This is Life" from "Everything Everywhere All at Once" was also nominated in this year's Oscars ceremony.
