It is an understatement when someone would say that Taylor Swift has a big fanbase. Since her first breakthrough as a country singer in the late 2000s, Swift has raised an entire generation, even inspiring countless younger artists along the way.

That is why it is not surprising to hear that more than 50% of adults living in the United States are found to be fans of Taylor Swift.

Swifties Demographics Revealed

A new survey concludes that 53% of adults in the United States say that they are fans of Taylor Swift. Market research company Morning Consult was the company that conducted the said study.

According to the data listed by the company, it seems like most Swifties are white democratic Millennials living in the suburbs.

The demographic profile says that 52% of Swifties are women, while 48% are men. Based on age, 45% are Millennials, while shockingly, the second largest chunk of her fanbase are Baby Boomers at 23%, then GenX, which are 21%, and lastly, GenZ adults at 11%.

Predominantly, Swifties are white with 74%, while 13% are African-Americans, 9% are Asians, and 4% are other races, possibly including Latinos.

Most Swifties are also living on the under $50,000 annual household income threshold, while the remaining 50% were split evenly on $50K-$100K income and $100K+.

53% of Taylor Swift fans live in the Suburbs, 26% in Urban areas, and 21% in Rural places.

Unsurprisingly, since Swift is a staunch liberal, 55% of her supporters are Democratic-leaning political ideologies, while 23% are both Independent and Republican.

Aside from this, 73% of Taylor Swift fans revealed that it was because they enjoy the pop star's music is the reason why they are in the fandom. 50% also say that they enjoy watching her performances and music videos, and 42% say that they support her because she is relatable.

But turns out only 44% of her fans consider themselves to belong to the "Swifties" community, mainly because of the reluctance to be associated with the questionable behavior that some of the members are doing online, including the harassment of the singer's ex-boyfriends, among many others.

Taylor Swift 'The Eras' Tour 2023

The survey came days before Swift was set to conquer the United States again with her "The Eras Tour."

The power of Taylor Swift fans was unmatched. After the disastrous Ticketmaster presale, Swifties has made it possible for Live Nation and Ticketmaster to be accountable are made accountable for the disservice they brought during the presale fiasco.
