Lady Gaga is now a successful musician, entrepreneur, and actress, but like most of the artists in the industry, the singer strived for her career path. One of her earlier songs, "Love Game," is celebrating its 14th anniversary today! Find out below where the famous "Disco Stick" phrase originated.

Originally released in 2008, the Oscar Award-winning songstress wrote the track with RedOne in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.

The track was a part of her highly-successful debut album "The Fame." It is the follow-up to her song "Eh Eh
(Nothing Else I Can Say)" and was released before the hit "Paparazzi."

"LoveGame" also became successful in the charts as it peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lady Gaga 'LoveGame' Meaning

The queen of pop, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, popularized the lyrics "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick" with the song.

According to a previous interview with Rolling Stone, the Grammy Award-winning singer opened up about the meaning behind the track, saying it all started when she was at a nightclub and had a sexual crush with a person.

Gaga claimed she went up to the unidentified man and told him that she wanted to "ride" his "disco stick."

"The next day, I was in the studio, and I wrote the song in about four minutes," she added.

She then noted that whenever she performs the song live during her "The Fame" era, she has an actual stick that lights up.

Lady Gaga 'LoveGame' Music Video Once Banned on Network Ten in Australia

In a previous interview on the Australian-based talk show "Rove," the pop star opened up about the metaphor of her famous "disco stick," saying it wasn't meant to be subtle and she was clear with the lyrics that she wanted to portray.

The music video of the song was banned in Network Ten, and she believes that people were "frivolously" hard on her because there was also other youth-oriented pop music that was more straightforward and had more sexually provocative lyrics.

The Video Music Award-winning pop superstar believes that it was the visuals of her music video that made people react.

Lady Gaga's "LoveGame" is available for streaming on major music platforms such as Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, and many more.
