Apart from being a talented singer, songwriter, and artist in general, Taylor Swift is also a humanitarian. Amid all the success and fame she has amassed in her music career, the woman has always remained grounded and humble.
Reports say Taylor Swift's "The Eras" tour was perhaps one of the biggest attended tours in music history. With the huge attendance, comes huge revenue as well. Swift, in return, is giving back to charity.
Taylor Swift Charity: Arizona Food Bank Donation
According to Billboard, Taylor Swift donated a "sizable" amount to the Arizona Food Bank Network, the biggest food bank in the state of Arizona.
The donation was given ahead of her now-iconic and viral "The Eras" opening night at the Glendale State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers also recently renamed the city "Swift City," in honor of the start of the monumental "The Eras" tour.
The publication reported that the donation was not publicized. Making it public only came after the food bank reacted to Taylor Swift's act of kindness on AZ Central.
"It's not every day that you get a call from someone who works for Taylor Swift, so we were dubious at first, but happily, it turned out to be absolutely real," Arizona Food Bank Network external relations vice president, Terri Shoemaker revealed.
According to Shoemaker, donations from people like Swift underscores that hunger is still a prevalent problem in the country. Noting the recognition from the artist was "so important," she also highlighted that Swift setting an example for many artists could help the fight against hunger.
Taylor Swift Charity: Nevada Food Bank Donation
After Arizona, Taylor Swift is now set to conquer Las Vegas, Nevada for the second weekend of her "The Eras" tour at the Allegiant Stadium. She will be accompanied by Filipino singer beebadoobee and "ABCDEFU" hitmaker Gayle on her third show overall on Mar. 24 - 25, 2023.
Meanwhile, Shoemaker added in her recent statements that in the conversation she had with Swift, or someone from her team, Swift announced she wanted to leave a "positive impact" on each state she goes on on her tour.
In a statement, Three Square, a huge food bank in Southern Nevada, revealed that they had also received a massive donation from Swift ahead of her shows this coming weekend.
