Until his last breath, Freddie Mercury kept his head high and protected the people he loved the most.

The late Queen frontman notably kept his AIDS diagnosis a secret to safeguard everyone close to his heart. Mercury decided to reveal his struggles to the public a day before his untimely death on Nov. 24, 1991.

Although he was suffering and dealing with his deteriorating health, Mercury remained positive and showed his determination to face what the future held for him with a smile.

Freddie Mercury's Last Photos Before Death Explored

Express UK shared the previously unveiled photos of Mercury taken at his home's Holland Park Garden in August 1991.

The "Bohemian Rhapsody" hitmaker's partner, Jim Hutton, penned in his memoir "Mercury and Me" that the singer posed for his camera for the last time before his death.

"It happened like this. I was out in the garden photographing some of the flowers in full bloom and Freddie walked towards me," he said. "I trained the lens on - he wanted to move back a bit so it wasn't a close-up. Then he posed while I took four pictures, and he managed a smile for each."

Although Mercury passed away, Queen recently teased recording and releasing new music for the first time.

Brian May and Roger Taylor, who have been touring with Adam Lambert, plan to release new music with the singer as the main vocalist. May told US radio that they need to create something that would make them feel they would need to release it to the public.

The other member, John Deacon, reportedly refused all the invitations he received from Queen members to rejoin the band. He notably retired in 1997.
