Steve Cain's daughter, who was also shot during a murder-suicide perpetrated by her mother in February, recently regained consciousness.

The Critical Khaos frontman's daughter, Samantha Cain, was in critical condition after her mother, Theresa Cain, shot her family members on Feb. 27. The authorities confirmed that Theresa shot herself after shooting her father, William Felton, her husband Steve Cain, and children Samantha and Ethan.

All of them - except Samantha - died on the spot.

Steve Cain's Daughter Survives Murder-Suicide

People cited the recent reports confirming that Samantha, the sole survivor of the February murder-suicide, is recovering at a rehabilitation facility for more than a month since the incident.

A GoFundMe page for Samantha shared a similar update in March, saying that she had already left the hospital and was transferred to a rehabilitation facility to continue her recovery.

According to the update, she was still unable to talk upon the transfer. Still, she reportedly started making facial expressions and typing out words to communicate.

"All of this is a huge progress that we were unsure of happening but have been extremely hopeful for and are thankful for the blessings of God for Him helping to guide her doctors and Samantha through her healing process," the page continued.

Samantha's friend, Selena Miller, attended the benefit dinner Thursday. She called her a "very sweet girl" who is "very loving."

What Happened to Steve Cain's Family

The Clermont County Sheriff's Office previously said that the deputies were scheduled to evict Cain's family from the foreclosed home in February.

Sheriff Steve Leahy said the authorities arrived at the Ohio home to give them the eviction papers due to the family's lingering financial problems. However, it led to the murder-suicide case.

Leahy said that the tragic event was "unnecessary."

"'What can we do to keep this from happening again?' Well, I'm just not that sure that we can. When people are in crisis, it's not as easy as just reaching out and saying, 'I need help.' They are spiraling. Nothing makes sense," he said.

He recalled seeing Theresa being cooperative throughout the process since visiting them before the crime happened. She reportedly even asked the deputies to give them a few hours to pack their things.

But as they arrived at the place, Theresa went inside the house quickly and closed the door. The authorities tried calling for her, but they heard a fast succession of gunfire while someone repeatedly said "no."

They soon found the family members dead, with Samantha immediately transported to a local hospital.
