Motley Crue officially started working on new music without Mick Mars.

Motley Crue and Mick Mars are yet to see the end of their legal battle after the latter sued the band for allegedly kicking him out of the group completely. He alleged that Motley Crue removed him from the band although he only retired from touring.

Nikki Sixx revealed earlier this month that he and touring guitarist John 5, who replaced Mars, would work together on a new record.

Motley Crue Announces Collaboration With Bob Rock

Motley Crue members shared several updates on Instagram as they confirmed the band's new music with the help of longtime producer Bob Rock.

Sixx, John 5, and drummer Tommy Lee all shared photos from the studio. Previously, only Sixx and John 5 confirmed spending a day together for a "killer songwriting" moment.

"We are writing. The creative process of songwriting has always been the heartbeat of our band. We're gonna go in the big studio next week and record a few off the floor and see where it goes. We don't have a definitive plan at this point. Just letting the songs guide us," Sixx said.

Once released, it would serve as a follow up to the band's 2008 "Saint of Los Angeles."

The members ultimately snubbed Mars, who sued the band for trying to end his career through a severance agreement in exchange for a compensation package. In his lawsuit, the guitarist said Motley Crue's lawyers warned him he would get nothing if he does not accept the package, as reported by Variety.

It, however, would prevent him from being part of the band's current and future gigs.

Sixx has since responded to the lawsuit and told Mars the band does not deserve it.

Motley Crue To Headline 2023 NFL Draft Concert Series

Aside from the album, Motley Crue added another gig to its schedule when the NFL Draft Concert Series confirmed the band and Fall Out Boy as the headliners for this year's event.

The concert, which will happen from April 27 to 29, will take place in Kansas City. It will be streamed via NFL's website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.

Motley Crue is scheduled to headline the April 28 date, while the other band will lead the April 27 show.

On the other hand, Funk/R&B artist Thundercat will close the show on April 29.
