It seems like Smokey Robinson had kept a big secret for decades as he recently revealed that he had an affair with one of the most iconic female singers in the industry despite being married to his wife.

Speaking The Guardian, the Motown legend responded to the years-long rumors about him and Diana Ross being Michael Jackson's real parents.

The musician said thinks that the allegations were funny as he never heard them before, but even though he's not the real father of the king of pop, there is one big revelation that the singer admitted.

Later in the interview, Robinson confirmed that he had an affair with Ross while he was still married to his ex-wife, Claudette Rogers.

Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross Affair

The 83-year-old singer then gave fans an insight into what happened between him and the superstar, saying he and Diana Ross were working together for a project and "it just happened."

He further explained that the "Ain't No Mountain High" songstress was young and trying to make it to the music industry at the time that's why he tried his best to help by bringing her to Motown Records.

Robinson clarified that no one was trying to pursue or go after one another, the relationship just happened between them naturally and he considered it as "beautiful."

Regarding his stand with the "I'm Coming Out" singer today, the musician said, I love her right till today. "She's one of my closest people." (via Billboard)

Why Did Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross Break Up?

Later in the interview, the musician revealed that it was Diana Ross who broke up with him, explaining that the female icon said she knew his wife and she knew that he loved his wife.

Regarding his affairs, Robinson noted that as people get older, they get wisdom in life and he learned at the time that humans are "capable of loving more than one person at the same time."

The musician was married to Claudette Rogers from 1959 to 1986, he later got married again to Frances Gladney in 2002.
