Is Kelly Clarkson heading to Broadway? Theories and rumors swirled around Twitter after it was announced that "The Kelly Clarkson Show" will be moving from one coast to another this coming year.

Notably, "Kelly Clarkson" is in production at the Universal lot in Los Angeles. Based on new reports, it will now be flying to the East Coast to be taped at NBC Studios in 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York for its upcoming new season.

The Kelly Clarkson Show Moving to New York?

According to a Variety article, the Rockefeller Plaza will now be the new home of "The Kelly Clarkson Show." It also housed famous late-night shows like Conan O'Brien and David Letterman.

It says in the report that a new "state of the art" studio will be built for Clarkson with the corresponding technical facility and support space.

Apparently, the move to the East Coast was motivated by the expansion of New York's Film Tax credit, a law recently signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Eligibility requirements for talk and variety show from five to two years have been reduced, incentivizing eligible productions to relocate to New York.

Variety reported earlier this year that the Emmy-winning show has been mulling over its prospective move to New York, where they will also be given a tax incentive if the show moved out from Los Angeles.

Sources say that production concerns are being ironed out yet because most of the staff were based in Los Angeles, and moving to another coast would bring logistical problems. Clarkson, along with the showrunners, executive producers, and musical directors will be moving to the Big Apple for the show.

With the show moving to New York, this gives the "American Idol" champ the perfect opportunity to pursue one of her childhood dreams - heading to Broadway.

In a Variety feature, Clarkson shared that it was one of her dreams growing up to perform on Broadway.

That is why as soon as the news hit online, some fans say that the move to the East Coast wasn't just because of the tax incentive, but was for another reason too.
