Britney Spears has not released a new album in over seven years and it appears that new music from the pop star won't come out anytime soon as she declared that she already "quit" after her years-long conservatorship.

Taking to her official Instagram account, the "Til The World Ends" hitmaker shared an old video of herself dancing to the track "Get Naked (I Got a Plan)," saying it's her favorite song throughout her career.

Elsewhere in the post, the musician took a trip down memory lane and recalled those times when she was performing along with her backup dancers.

"It was really weird because my dancers took the stage for this song... I listened to this song today and actually realized it for the first time," she wrote with a smirk and eye-roll emojis. (via Page Six)

Is Britney Spears Working on a New Album?

Britney Spears has not released any solo music since 2016, but there have been rumors that the musician is working on a "revenge" album.

According to a close source who told Hola! last year, the musician has been in the studio after taking a break for more than half a decade.

Throughout her career, the insider said Spears has not always been "opposed" to making music. However, after her 13-year conservatorship, she had been "emotionally damaged" by how she was used by people for money.

Regarding her new record, the pop singer was reportedly experimenting with a new style as she had been directed nearly all of her life.

"Britney's now working with several friends who she trusts, getting into a groove, and developing her own new style," the source added.

As of this writing, Britney Spears has not confirmed if the rumors surrounding her music comeback are true. She also never announced anything regarding new songs or an album.
