Doja Cat just announced that she will finally be dropping a new single titled "Attention," this release will mark her entering her highly anticipated comeback era.

According to reports, the rapper slash singer-songwriter surprised fans when she dropped a teaser for a song that is slated for release on Friday, Jun 16.

Apparently, she has ben dropping hints since last week about the announcement, but fans were none the wiser.

The singer had been tweeting: "scarlet was here" and "scarlet's watching." That was the clue because the singer dropped an ominous teaser picture of an upside-down letter A written in blood.

Doja Cat's New Single

The upcoming song comes a year after her last music release, "Vegas," which was Doja Cat's rendition of Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog." The song was also used in the award-winning biopic directed by Baz Luhrman "Elvis," starring Austin Butler.

It will also be the song that will introduce fans to her new era. The rapper slash singer's last album "Planet Her" was released back in 2021, and fans have been begging Doja Cat to release new material since then.

She has kept relatively silent about the new album's details, but the "Say So" rapper admitted that it is taking so long because of her fickle mind.

"We just have so many ideas and making those ideas consistent is the challenge right now," the rapper slash singer explained.

"I can't really tell much. I just know there's a lot going on. I'm very into this '90s German rave kind of vibe right now and it's really fun."

Doja Cat Threatens to Quit

According to reports, Doja Cat announced that she will no longer be making pop music, much to everyone's surprise.

"No more pop," she simply tweeted back in April.

"I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasn't trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I'm getting tired of hearing yall say that I can't so I will."

A few days later, she tweeted again, saying that she plans to quit making music altogether, instead; then she followed it up with a "jk im not. Relax," tweet right after.

Fans are glad the rapper slash singer is not quitting. They won't mind whatever genre of music Doja Cat would explore as long as she sticks around.

"We will be streaming," a fan wrote.

"Finally some real music."

"Rap incoming," another wrote with fire emojis.
