The 59-year-old vocalist took to Facebook on Thursday and delivered worrying news about his health status.

Sweet revealed in the post that he has been having issues with his vision while also dealing with the nodules in his thyroid detected a few years ago. Amid his battle, he asked his followers for prayers for the next few weeks before sharing more details about his health conditions.

Speaking about his thyroid nodules, he wrote, "This is fairly common yet it can and will have an effect on the voice and can cause issues over time. One of the nodules (right side) has basically remained the same size."

The singer added that the nodule on the left side has grown bigger over the past years, so he would have a biopsy procedure on Tuesday to determine what it really is.

Aside from his thyroid, his eyes have also been struck with an issue following the detachment of his retinal tears in his right eye in November 2021. Sweet's left eye reportedly starting to have issues that might need a vitrectomy to remove fluid/floaters, scarring, and blood from it.

Sweet's health battle came after Stryper released "The Final Battle" after the success of its predecessor albums like "Even the Devil Believes," "No More Hell To Pay," "Fallen," and "To Hell with the Devil."

Michael Sweet's Voice Starts To Age

In 2022, Sweet spoke candidly about the status of his voice during his interview with The Rock Experience With Mike Brunn and why his band no longer performs the songs in the original key. He previously worried fans after the vocalist confirmed they had been playing their music a half step down due to his "aging voice."

The singer admitted that they dropped the key down a half step to make singing easier for him. Although he undergoes checkups for his vocal cords every year, he noticed the changes in his voice, especially before he discovered that the organ has nodules.

Despite his struggles, he assured everyone he still has the voice he always had.
