The hip-hop genre has always been in a continuous debate on who has done more for younger artists and who has not. Very recently, Charlamagne Tha God stirred online debate wherein he made a claim that got people on social media talking.

According to him, Cardi B was a trailblazer in the female rap scene by collaborating with small up-and-coming artists and kickstarting their mainstream careers, similar to what Drake and Jay-Z have done in the past.

Charlamagne Tha God Claims Cardi B Is Like Jay-Z and Drake

In his appearance at the Big Loon's It's Up There Podcast, Charlamagne Tha God dropped a pretty huge claim that Cardi B is similar to Jay-Z and Drake when it comes to impact in the hip-hop scene as she spearheaded the trend of big women in rap collaborating with smaller artists.

"Cardi shifted that in the culture," Charlamagne claimed. "Cardi made it to where you the O.G., you the person who made all the money, sold all the records, but you have no problem putting your arm around that next person."

Notably, Cardi B only collaborated with a relatively unknown GloRilla on "Tomorrow 2" on September 2022. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj, the rapper Cardi B has been pitted against for so long has already released a mega collaboration with smaller artists on the "Queen Mix" version of "Super Freaky Girl" on August 2022.

She worked with JT of City Girls, BIA, Katie Got Bandz, Akbar V, and Maliibu Miitch for the said record. She also worked with burgeoning rapper Coi Leray in March 2022 for "Blick Blick."

In Charlamagne Tha God's statement, he said that Cardi did for female rap what the two rap icons did.

Fans Are Laughing, Angry On Charlamagne Tha God Claims

Meanwhile, hip-hop fans online begged to differ.

"There is only One female rapper you can compare to JAY-Z & Drake. That is Nicki Minaj and only her," a user tweeted.

"You can't have a Jay-Z impact with ONE album," someone shared, taking a shot on the fact that Cardi B has only one album released.

"Weird because I can't even tell you a Cardi B song but I can remember like a dozen Nicki Minaj songs Nikki is more impactful to me at least," someone said.

Not only were the comments crediting Nicki Minaj for doing the same thing earlier, but people were also laughing at the rather laughable claim that Charlamagne dropped.

"Literally ever since she came into the game we have had endless untalented ppl tryna become rappers just to get money - like its not even about the music anymore with alot of the people and its sad how they make a mockery of hiphop/rap," one user wrote.

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha dude just talks for the sake of it alt this point," another said.
