In a statement that her sister Nancy posted on Instagram, International Recording artist CoCo Lee was revealed to have passed away at 48 years old, following a long battle with depression.
CoCo Lee's cause of death was attributed to suicide, her sister revealed on Instagram.
"With great sadness, we are here break the most devastating news: CoCo had been suffering from depression for a few years but her condition deteriorated drastically over the last few months," the statement read.
Lee is survived by her husband, Canadian businessman Bruce Rockowitz and her two stepdaughters.

Born Ferren Lee in Hong Kong on Jan. 17, 1975, Lee at a tender age relocated to California with her family from Hong Kong. She attended Presidio Middle School and Raoul Wallenberg Traditional High School in San Francisco, California.
However, around her freshman year at the University of California - Irvine, she moved back to Hong Kong to pursue her career in music. After placing second in a talent show, she was immediately offered a recording deal the day after. She then went on to release music and became one of the most sought-after Chinese-American artists in the world.

After signing at Capital Artists in Hong Kong, CoCo Lee went on to release four albums under Fancy Pie Records.
It wasn't until 1996 that she was tapped by Sony Music Entertainment Taiwan as their very first artist. She released her debut major studio self-titled album in the same year, which was in Mandarin.
She also released her second English album, "CoCo's Party" in 1996. However, her most successful English album was "Just No Other Way" in 1999 which was under Epic Records.
It birthed her most iconic record "Do You Want My Love" which went on to chart at No. 84 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 49 on Billboard Dance Club Songs back then.
