Billie Eilish RIAA Diamond Certification

As RIAA released its new certifications this week, it granted Billie Eilish her first-ever Diamond single for "Bad Guy."

She celebrated the huge recognition in an Instagram post where she wore a yellow hoodie and tracksuit, with the recent certification.

"bad guy went diamond............................ HUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH??????????" she wrote in her apparent disbelief at the accomplishment.

For those who do not know, Diamond certifications are given to artists whose singles or albums have sold a minimum of 10,000,000 units.

"forever and ever grateful for this silly little song man. love you guys so much its stupid @finneas," she said, tagging her brother Finneas, who is also the producer of the track.

Born in 2001, Billie Eilish officially becomes the first artist born in this century to score a Diamond Certification.

To date, "Bad Guy" is Eilish's highest charting single in her discography as it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 2019 and spent 49 weeks there. It is also her sole chart leader. (via Billboard)

"Bad Guy" won Record and Song of the Year at the 2020 Grammys, as well as Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Album of the Year for its mother album.
