Taylor Swift has, once again, declined to headline the highly coveted and prestigious Super Bowl halftime show, and her fans are both relieved and smug about it!

Swift just finished the first US leg of her "The Eras" tour, and if there is anything that she has proven, it is that she can outsell the very same stadiums where the NFL holds their annual Super Bowl games several times over.

Fans are smug that the singer does not need to perform at the Super Bowl, and in fact, they claim that it is the other way around: the NFL and Super Bowl needs the "Anti-Hero" singer.

"LMAO Taylor Swift is bigger than the Super Bowl," a fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"This is her 2nd time turned down this show. Taylor Swift doesn't need Super Bowl, Super Bowl needs Taylor Swift."

Why Taylor Swift Declined the Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance

According to reports, the "Blank Space" singer will reportedly finish re-recording all her previously released albums, from her debut all the way to "Reputation," before she accepts to headline the prestigious sports slash music event.

Swift does not own the masters of her first six albums because they were bought by Scooter Braun. She reportedly refuses to play any of her songs that she is yet to officially claim have "Taylor's Versions."

Other fans theorize that Swift simply has no need for a Super Bowl halftime show performance because she will not get paid.

"Super Bowl is SUPER IRRELEVANT for an artist like Taylor swift cuz the Eras tour is a billion times bigger than the Super Bowl and its impact is insane. Mind you Rihanna's Super Bowl Spotify boost didn't even last for a month," a fan wrote.

"If Taylor Swift did the Super Bowl the halftime show would need to be the actual football game sandwiched by two Taylor Swift concerts, not the other way around," another wrote, noting that Swift's popularity trumps the football game.

Taylor Swift Fans Tackle NFL Fans

Other fans claim that once Swift accepts to headline the Super Bowl, it would just be bad news for the football fans because they will most likely lose the chance to buy tickets.

"Well, yes because it would be competing teams' fans and Swifties fighting for tickets and the winner is not gonna be the ones wanting to see sports," a fan wrote.

"If Taylor Swift did the Super Bowl we could get all the sports bros waitlisted," another added.
