"Scarlet" will be released on Sept. 22, and the album cover features aan artwork of a pink spider.

Doja Cat 'Paints the Town Red' With 'Scarlet'

Doja Cat has been embroiled in controversy after controversy since earlier this year: she has been accused of being a demon-worshiper because of a particular tattoo, then she insulted her fans.

When the "Paint the Town Red" rapper first unveiled her tattoo, it was met with criticism and backlash.

"Not a fan anymore. Used to love you but you clearly sold your soul to the devil. Unfollow," a netizen commented on her Instagram post.

Doja Cat simply laughed it off, replying, "whatever helps you sleep at night."

Perhaps it was the first hint or easter egg she has laid out for her fans to guess what direction her next era was headed to, however, they did not immediately catch on, instead, the singer was met with backlash and accused of being a satanist or demon-worshiper.

After the tattoo controversy, Doja Cat was yet again faced with flack after dissing her fans for calling themselves "Kittenz."

Doja Cat Loses Her Fanbase?

According to reports, the drama between the rapper and her fans began when she dissed fans for referring to themselves as "Kittenz." They were offended, and asked for an apology, but the "Say So" singer doubled down.

"Just delete the entire account and rethink everything," she replied to the fan, before eventually telling them she does not love them, "I don't though because I don't even know y'all."

Fans were appalled by her behavior, especially the fan accounts who have supported the rapper since she launched her career.

"Deactivating our accounts was really us letting it be known that the support can stop for her anytime. We do so much campaigning and promotion for her that isn't worth it if her comments are how she really feels," said a fan.
