"Paint the Town Red" by Doja Cat is currently the sixth highest-charting rap song by a female artist in Global Spotify's history.

According to Pop Base, the song is tied to another song of the singer's, "Need to Know."

Fans and netizens were surprised by the news, especially after hundreds-if not thousands-denounced her and claimed that they would never listen to her music again after she rejected her own fans.

In fact, according to Billboard, Doja Cat's new song debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is not bad, but also a downgrade from her usual debut numbers.

Staff from Billboard shared their thoughts on Doja Cat's numbers in correlation to her being "canceled" online, as well as her previously released single "Attention."

"Considering the lukewarm reception to "Attention" and the fact that Doja doesn't have many splashy fist-week showings for solo singles, No. 15 is a bit higher than I expected," said Kyle Denis.

"A little higher than I would've predicted on first listen, but about right after a couple days," added Andrew Unterberger. "Initially the song sounded kinda messy to me - I'm still not totally sure about that chorus or title - but after hearing it a couple times and especially after seeing the music video, it sounds more like another Doja crossover smash to me. And No. 15 is a pretty decent start for it."

Just as she had told her fans about not particularly liking them too much, "Paint the Town Red" echoes her sentiments and reinforces the notion that the singer is doing her own thing, regardless of what anybody says about it.

It is reflected in the chorus of the song: "Yeah, b* *h, I said what I said/ I'd rather be famous instead/ I let all that get to my head/ I don't care, I paint the town red."

Doja Cat also referenced the time when netizens called her a devil worshiper or a satanist after she revealed her mongrel-looking tattoo.

"Mm, she the devil/ She a bad lil' b* *h, she a rebel/ She put her foot to the pedal/ It'll take a whole lot for me to settle."

Doja Cat Loses Fans, Followers

It seems like Doja Cat has officially decided that she no longer cares about how her fans and netizens think of her, and the new song is proof of that.

The drama between Doja Cat and her fans began when she mocked a fan account for using the term "kittenz" to identify themself as a fan.

"My fans don't name themselves shit," the singer slash rapper wrote. "If you call yourself a 'kitten' or f**king 'kittenz' that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house."
