Jimmy Buffett's Last Days Before Death Revisited

In an interview with People for the magazine's latest issue, Buffett's sister Laurie Buffet McGuane and her husband, Tom McGuane, revealed that they spent time with the singer in the months leading to his death. They also noted that he remained in great spirits despite the health issues he was dealing with.

"It is remarkable to be able to say that he remained the same during the last month of his life," Tom, who had been the singer's friend for more than five decades, said. "His sense of humor was fully intact. God bless him for keeping himself that way."

According to Laurie, she and their sister Lucy stayed by Buffett's side when he died, and the siblings took their time reminiscing their childhood stories in his last days.

She added that she felt safe when her brother was in the world and that everything would be different after his passing.
