Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had serious problems before The Jonas Brothers member filed for divorce.
TODAY confirmed that Jonas filed for a dissolution of marriage from Turner on Tuesday, citing "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken." The divorce documents also revealed they have a prenup in place, and the development ended their four years of marriage.
Sophie Turner Hinted at Failing Marriage to Joe Jonas?
Prior to the divorce filing, Turner appeared in an interview with Elle in 2022, during which she seemingly hinted at tensions between them.
The "Game of Thrones" actress, who was born in Northampton and grew up near Leamington Spa, said she was trying to "drag" her husband back to England, but her estranged husband had been reluctant to do so.
She said she wanted her family back to where they came from and for their children to have a similar education to what she had and to care for her mental health, although she loves the U.S.
"England would ideally be the final destination, but [Joe] might take quite a bit of convincing!" she added. "My parent's house is the epitome of the English countryside - horses, sheep, cows."
Turner's issue with mental health occurred as she rose to fame as an actress after her debut in the hit HBO series, "Game of Thrones." She also struggled with eating disorders for so long that she had a live-in therapist to guide her.

Joe Jonas Has a Different Reason for Divorcing Sophie Turner?
Earlier reports said the estranged couple has been having serious problems over the past six months, and a source recently told a news outlet that Turner's nightlife caused Jonas to divorce her.
"She likes to party; he likes to stay at home," the insider said. "They have very different lifestyles."
Jonas and Turner have yet to confirm the exact reason behind the filing, but the singer revealed in the filing that he has been indeed caring for their two daughters all the time although he is currently touring with his brothers.
However, he noted that he wants to have shared parental responsibility after their split, and they have a prenuptial agreement in place.
