Nicki Minaj is gearing up for the release of her new album "Pink Friday 2" and Janet Jackson was recently dragged into a drama after fans accused her of shading the rapper. Today, the musician spoke out and clarified the supposed beef between the two of them.

According to Complex, the alleged issue started earlier this week when the rapper dropped the official album cover of her new album, which will be released later this year.

In the photo, which was heavily praised by her fandom, the female rapper could be seen wearing a white coat standing in a flying train over New York City as the text "Pink Friday 2" could be read on the upper right corner.

The next day, Jackson shared an old photo of herself wearing a white coat as well and a GIF of Marsai Martin wearing her sunglasses.

Despite the legendary singer's post being harmless, some online users took offense and dragged Jackson in the reply section of her post.

The singer's fans immediately defended her, saying there was no shade involved in her tweet as she was just showing her fans a throwback photo of herself.

The "Come On Get Up" hitmaker then broke her silence and replied, writing, "It's a shame that people want to pit one artist against another."

Nicki Minaj also responded and appeared to be in good spirits as she quote-retweeted the post, writing, "Icon. Legend. Royalty. The original defenition of #ICanBeAllTheWayCoveredItsSTILLgivingSEXY"

Jackson replied with a simple heart emoji.

Nicki Minaj 'Pink Friday 2' Release Date

Fans couldn't wait to hear new music from Nicki Minaj as her new album "Pink Friday 2" will be coming out in a few months.

To kick off her new era, the female rapper dropped the first single ever titled "Last Time I Saw You."

Regarding the details of her record, them usician spoke with Zane Lowe on New Music Daily where she revealed whether Drake would be a collaborator on the record or not.

She answered, "Make sure y'all let Drizzy Drake know that Pink Friday 2 is coming out November 17th as well. And we are waiting on his contribution."

Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday 2" will be available for purchase and streaming on major music platforms starting on November 17, 2023.
