SZA dropped her highly anticipated sophomore album "SOS" in December 2022, and it conquered the music charts for months after its release.

The "Kill Bill" singer revealed that she will be releasing a deluxe version of the album, which will be called "Lana," and it will boast several unreleased bonus tracks that failed to make the tracklist the first time around.

"The deluxe is like a whole 'nother album," the singer said during one of her concert shows. "It's called 'Lana.' It's seven to ten songs. And it'll be out this fall!"

Although SZA has not explained why the upcoming album is called "Lana," reports say that it might be a nod to her real name, Solana.

SZA Hit Album 'SOS'

"SOS" was released though Top Dawg Entertainment, and it is SZA's second album, the follow-up to her debut album "Ctrl," which was released in 2017.

Before its release, SZA dropped three chart-topping singles "Shirt," "Good Days," and "I Hate U."

After its release, it generated more singles: "Nobody Gets Me," "Snooze," and "Kill Bill," which became the singer's first Billboard 100 No. 1 song.

"SOS" is critically acclaimed; it received a 90 out of 100 from Metacritic. Pitchfork gave it an 8.7 out of 10, Rolling Stone a four out of five, while NME gave it a five-star review.

The album was also included in several year-end lists like BPM's Top 50 Albums of 2020, BrooklynVegan's The Top 50 Best Album of 2022, Consequence's Top 50 Albums of 2022, Variety's The Best Albums of 2022, The Hollywood Reporter's The 10 Best Albums of 2022

SZA's Deluxe Album 'Lana' Coming Soon

According to reports, not only did the "SOS" ring SZA back into everyone's radar but it also cemented her in the music industry as a force to be reckoned with.

She was bestowed the highly coveted Billboard Woman of the Year Award, where she revealed that the upcoming deluxe album will boast 10 additional tracks.

That means her album will have a total of 33 songs in total-something not a lot of artists do when releasing albums or even deluxe versions of their albums.

"A song called 'Boy From South Detroit' that Twitter wanted really bad, [neither managers] Rob nor Punch really cared about that song," SZA said, noting that the song will be on the deluxe version.
