Aside from creating music and traveling to some of the most breathtaking beaches around the world, another thing that Drake loves is watching sports to the point that he would bet money on a certain team or player if he feels like they're going to win.

However, there is this thing called the "Drake curse" and it appears that it happened once again after the rapper lost over half a million dollars.

According to Uproxx, the famed rapper, who is currently on tour for his "It's All A Blur" series of shows, placed a whopping $500,000 bet on Israel Adesanya's match against Sean Strickland at the UFC 293.

The musician always shares his betting journey with his followers on social media as he is reportedly an endorser of Stake.

Unfortunately, the money that Drake bet didn't win as Adesanya lost on a 49-46 decision by the judges, this marked his second time losing due to the decision of a panel.

What is the Drake Curse?

Drake has a very inconsistent record regarding his bets as he had several incidents in the past wherein he would bet or support a certain player or team and they would end up losing.

One of the victims was renowned tennis player Serena Williams. In 2015, she had a great record when it came to her professional career as an athlete.

She won four Grand Slam tournaments that year which made history as she was the third woman to win such a title. However, rumors started going around that she was dating Drake and when she competed against another tennis superstar, Roberta Vinci, she lost as the rapper watched from the crowd.

Other "victims" of the "Drake curse" include Connor McGregor, Jonny Manziel, The Golden State Warriors, and many more.
