Being in the music industry is hard for breakout artists who are just starting their careers, but despite the hardships and problems, there are veteran musicians who are always willing to lend a hand whenever amateur musicians need help.

Fortunately for Olivia Rodrigo, who just dropped her sophomore album "GUTS" after the success of her first one "SOUR," Katy Perry was there to give her a boost as she felt that no one helped her during the early days of her career.

According to a cover story by Rolling Stone for the young pop star, the "Firework" hitmaker confirmed that she offered to mentor the singer when they met each other for the first time.

Perry recalled the encounter, saying, "I put my hands on her shoulders and was like, 'Listen, I'm here. Whatever you need.'"

The reason why she decided to help out was because she knew exactly what "these pop girlies are going through" and when she was starting out, no one did that to her.

Olivia Rodrigo 'Teenage Dream' on 'GUTS'

When the singer dropped her album, many noticed that one of the songs, "Teenage Dream," is the same title as Perry's song that was released in 2010.

Rodrigo told the outlet that it was a coincidence and the only similar between the two tracks are the title because they sound differently and the lyrics are not the same.

Despite this, Perry expressed her feelings about the new song as she mentioned that it's nice to see it "resonating thorugh the ears of different age groups."

She also commended Rodrigo for being a "craftswoman" as she constantly writes her feelings and inner thoughts in her songs that people don't often express publicly.

Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift Feud Finally Addressed

In the same interview, Rodrigo took the time to finally address the rumor that she's feuding with another major international pop star, Taylor Swift.

The Grammy Award-winning artist revealed that she doesn't have a beef with anybody because she's "very chill" and she likes to keep things to herself.

"There's nothing to say...There's so many Twitter conspiracy theories. I only look at alien-conspiracy theories," she added. (via Variety)

Olivia Rodrigo's second album, "GUTS," is now available for streaming on major music platforms online like Spotify and Apple Music.
