Katy Perry recently made a big career move as she reportedly sold her music rights to a company, but fans online shared their personal opinions over the deal and most of them agreed that the pop star was "robbed" because her music was worth more than what she was paid for.

According to Variety, the "International Smile" hitmaker sold her music catalog to a company called Litmus Music and it was confirmed on Monday.

Insiders revealed that the negotiation between the singer and the company ended up at a price of $225 million.

Looking inside the deal, it covers all of the "American Idol" judge's stakes in master recordings and publishing rights for the albums she released from 2008 to 2020.

As of 2023, the musician has five albums: "One of the Boys" in 2008, "Teenage Dream" in 2010, "Prism" in 2013, "Witness" in 2017, and her most recent, "Smile" in 2020.

Perry, whose real name is Katherine Elizabeth Hudson, was not the first singer whose music was bought by Litmus Music as the company also had a deal with Keith Urban in late 2022.
