J Balvin has been away from the music scene for quite some time; what has he been up to and is he really going to release a new album soon? #JBalvin #NewMusic #NewAlbum

J Balvin is one of the most prominent Latin artists right now, but he has stepped away from the music scene for a while to work on himself and his life.

The last album the Colombian singer released was 2021's "Jose," which earned him a nomination for Best Musica Urbana Album at the 2022 Latin Grammy Awards.

Balvin is now returning with another highly anticipated album, and he revealed what took him so long to make it.

"A lot of things changed. I'm just a different person. I grew up some more," Balvin explained. "I still have a lot of things that I have to adapt to... I have to change. Like definitely getting in the space to take a minute and say, 'We need to have fun and not everything is work.'"

According to People magazine, the singer is yet to set a definitive release date for the upcoming album, but he is already so hyped up for it.

After years of working to "reinvent" himself, he has finally gotten it right; "I'm excited. It's a lot of greatness."

J Balvin's Sporadic Music Releases

Since 2021, Balvin has not stopped working on his music and making music. He released "Dientes" featuring Usher and DJ Khaled; the song interpolates Usher's song "Yeah!" released in 2004.

Just like the newly released song, Balvin is working on widening the reach of his music, "I'm Latino but I make music for the whole world.

"I want people from Japan, people from Indonesia and Australia to mesh with the music. I think ["Dientes"] achieved that."

J Balvin's Projects

According to reports, aside from music, Balvin collaborated with Nike for the newly released Air Jordan 3 "Sunset."

The shoe design is reportedly inspired by the town where he grew up, which is Medellin, Colombia, as well as its culture and, of course, sunset.

Ironically, during the Nascar Cup Series in Bristol, the singer attempted to approach Michael Jordan, only for the iconic NBA star's body guards to block him, assuming that he was a random fan.

Reports say that the basketball player instantly recognized Balvin and waved off his guards, allowing the singer to come closer, and they shared an embrace.
