The recent release of Britney Spears' dance video, which showcases her spinning around in a bikini while holding "knives" has prompted an investigation from the local police.

This is due to concerns surrounding her well-being that the welfare check aims to address.

This week, Britney dazzled her fans with a unique performance. Unlike her past uploads, the pop star danced with two replica butcher's blades and used them as part of her choreography.

Visible behind her were two dogs who watched curiously as their owner wrote: "I started playing around with knives today" beneath the post.

News recently began circulating that Britney has a strong interest in knives. This story first made headlines in May but gained even more attention when she separated from Sam Asghari.

To celebrate the upcoming spooky season, the "Baby One More Time" hitmaker unveiled a daring outfit.

She wore white bikini bottoms paired with an orange polka dot crop top. Her feet were bare, and she completed the look with a black choker.

She opted for a half-updo for her hair, which fell into long, untidy strands down her shoulders. In her caption, she joked: "Don't worry, they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon !!!"

Although the disclaimer was provided after her original video had been shared, it seemed as though the knives glowed like actual blades, creating an intense, dramatic atmosphere.

This only served to elevate the quality of the video further.

In response to a phone call expressing worry for her wellbeing, the Ventura County Sheriff's

Department authorities took extra precaution in sending officers to check on Britney Spears.

According to TMZ, the "Toxic" singer was at home when they arrived, and after a brief conversation with her, they determined that she was alright and subsequently departed. As a safety measure, this action was taken out of an abundance of caution.

Another source told Page Six, "Somebody close to Britney had seen the video posted on social media, where she's dancing and twirling with knives in her hands, and they were really concerned for her mental well-being."

"We would normally not respond to fans calling in about a celebrity unless we actually believed that there is a credible threat," the officer says. "However, we vetted this individual through LAPD ... and we determined this is someone who knows Britney on a personal basis."

The initial plea for assistance came through the Los Angeles Police Department's Systemwide Mental Assessment Response Team (SMART) and was then relayed to the sheriff's office.

At Britney Spears' home in Thousand Oaks, Calif., officers spoke with security via intercom; according to Worthy, security assured them that the "Womanizer" singer was "fine." However, they refused authorities access to see her personally.

Reports have surfaced that a few individuals were anxious for Britney's well-being once her Instagram clip began circulating. One of the police officers who had previously done a welfare check on her felt unease upon having to return.

Since its release, this video has been garnering quite a bit of attention on various social media outlets such as Reddit.

One thread regarding it had fans expressing worrisome remarks, with one user commenting: "This video is craziness. It's probably one of scariest so far."

Someone else had a different opinion, chiming in with: "She claims they're not genuine, but I think otherwise. This is concerning." A third party appeared to concur, noting: "Oh Brit Brit, it would've been more believable had you not clinked them together like that."
