Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's friends are having a hard time amid the estranged couple's nasty divorce.
Joe and Sophie attended their first divorce mediation on Wednesday, October 4, in New York City to settle other issues following the divorce filing. Reports previously said they have a prenup, but they still have other things to finalize related to the dissolution of their marriage.
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's Friends 'Caught in the Middle' of Their Messy Divorce
Amid Joe and Sophie's nasty divorce, a source said their friends have been trying to be neutral as they find it hard to choose sides.
The unnamed insider told Life & Style (via OK! Magazine) that, while some of their friends are separated in supporting them, others remain in the middle of the hot issue. Even Nick Jonas' wife, Priyanka Chopra, has also been struggling.
"She and Sophie were very close," the insider spilled. "There was once a time Sophie thought she and Joe would move to London and so would Nick and Priyanka. Priyanka loves Sophie and her nieces and doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize them being in her life."
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift - who was spotted having a night out with Sophie and their other female friends in New York City - does not mind getting involved as "Game of Thrones" cast members are supportive of their costar, as well.
On the other hand, Joe has reportedly been leaning on his brothers Nick and Kevin, aside from his famous friends who support him in his divorce battle.
The insider added that the divorce battle, which is "really sad to see," could take place for a very long time.

Sophie Turner Earns Public Support
A PR expert recently shared how Sophie successfully won people's hearts by staying silent.
Public relations and crisis communications professional Molly McPherson said the treatment of Sophie gives "a model" to famous people who also go through the same phase.
"I think what we're going to find is more publicists are going to follow the Sophie Turner playbook, and they are going to look at a response now in a more calculated way that results in them having a firm control of the narrative at all times," the expert explained.
Meanwhile, NBC News said in a statement that Joe did not spark the negative media reports about his estranged wife.
