Troye Sivan has been taking over the music industry since he was 14 years old, but it appears that his latest album, "Something to Give Each Other," is the most special one as he explained in a recent interview.

Speaking with People Magazine during the early listening party for his new album in New York City, the musician said: "I think I'm going to look back on this album and this time in my life with such fondness."

The new record features 10 brand new songs which revolves around the topic of his personal life and exploring his sexuality after ending his last long-term relationship.

 

He also opened up about the songwriting process, saying the tracks came to him naturally.

"I can look back on my life in these albums almost as journals from a specific time period, and this album is reflective of where I've been for the last couple years," he explained.

The Australian pop superstar further noted that it was nice to look back over the past years and realize that it was joyous and "full of love in many different forms."

Troye Sivan Feels More 'Relaxed' in His 3rd Musical Era

Troye Sivan has come so far from his early days in the music industry as he improved so much not just in music, but also how he presents himself with the world.

Today, the singer belongs to a handful of LGBTQIA+ musicians who are dominating the industry such as Kim Petras, Sam Smith, Lil Nas X, and more.

He explained in the interview that working on his third musical era after "Blue Neighbourhood" and "Bloom" was easy for him as he feels more relaxed compared to creating the two previous albums.

"From writing the album to making the visuals to releasing it, everything has just been a lot more fun... Maybe because it's my third time doing it, I feel a little bit more relaxed," he added.

It Took Troye Sivan 5 Years to Release a New Album But He Didn't Mean It

Troye Sivan's sophomore album "Bloom" came out five years ago and many fans have been waiting for him to release more songs before "Something to Give Each Other" dropped.

In a previous post on his official Instagram account, he explained that he never intended for his new album to be hold for a long time.

He noted that one of the factors of the delay was his tour in 2019, in addition, the pandemic came in 2020 and he also starred in the series "The Idol" along with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.
