The world of heavy metal is sad as Slipknot's current drummer Jay Weinberg, who replaced Joey Jordinson after he left in 2013, announced that he's parting ways with the band.

According to USA Today, the band took to their official website to share the shocking announcement. At first, they expressed their gratitude for the singer's dedication as he was able to be a part of the group for over a decade.

"We would like to thank Jay Weinberg for his dedication and passion over the past ten years," they wrote, adding that although Joey Jordinson's sound or style is irreplaceable, they are stil honored to work with Weinberg over the last three albums.

Although Slipknot didn't explicitly revealed why the musician is leaving the group, they noted that the band's is "intent on evolving" that's why they made the creative decision to part ways with Weinberg.

Jay Weinberg Net Worth 2023 Upon Leaving Slipknot

A few weeks ago, frontman Corey Taylor spoke with the "FeedbackDef" podcast where he revealed that Slipknot isn't earning that much compared to other bands.

Although he noted that the group doesn't make a lot of money, he and his bandmates make enough to "live comfortably."

One of the main reasons why they don't earn that much was because they had to pay their entire crew who's been working with them on tours. They also have to settle production costs. (via Blabbermouth)

Regardless of their earnings, All Famous Birthday reported that Jay Weinberg's current net worth as of 2023 is estimated to be around $5 million, which he accumulated from his work not only with Slipknot, but his previous projects with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and many more.

Jay Weinberg's Last Show With Slipknot

Just days before it was announced that he would be leaving Slipknot, Jay Weinberg took to his official Instagram account to tell fans that he's excited for final performance with the group for 2023.

"Last show of 2023 tomorrow. See you soon @hhopenair," he wrote in the caption.

The outlet then noted that the band was able to perform at the Hell & Heaven Fest in Toluca, Mexico. Weinberg also took to his account, saying 2023 was "an amazing year of memorable shows."
