Earlier this year, Bruce Springsteen had his fans worried when he announced that he would be postponing his concerts and the remaining dates for his tour.

Now, Steven Van Zandt gave a reassuring update on the Boss' health condition.

Bruce Springsteen Health Update

According to E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt, Bruce Springsteen's health update is that he is now in "great shape."

Speaking to People Magazine during the 2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, Van Zandt had this to say:

"We're gonna come back stronger than ever in March," Van Zandt said in response to a question asking for Springsteen's health update. "It was a very, very intense first six months of the tour - maybe our most intense ever. And so we're gonna come back with that same intensity, and it's gonna be great."

Last September 2023, Springsteen canceled the remainder of his Arena tour in the United States and in Europe.

In a statement shared on his Instagram account, he has this to say: "the decision of his medical advisers is that he should postpone the remainder of his September shows."

"Over here on E Street, we're heartbroken to have to postpone these shows. First, apologies to our fabulous Philly fans who we missed a few weeks ago. We'll be back to pick these shows up and then some. Thank you for your understanding and support," the statement read.

Can Bruce Springsteen Recover From Peptic Ulcer?

Talking to Billboard, Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica gastroenterologist Dr. Rudolph Bedford said that the disease is quite common than anyone think.

To put it simply, there is an imbalance in the protective lining of the patient's stomach.

"The stomach is full of acid and whenever something in that acid destroys the protective lining the nerves in the stomach wall become inflamed and cause severe pain," Bedford explained.

The likelihood of someone like Springsteen, who is already 74, is great.

"In this day and age, surgery is exceedingly rare and medications works quite well," he said about Springsteen's recovery. Usually significant healing can occur after weeks depending on the severity as it can be treated through medications.

Since the thinning is caused by H.pylori, a bacteria, it can be treated with antibiotic medications. (via The Mayo Clinic)

"It can happen to anyone," he added. "I would certainly think he'd be popping antacids and acid reducing meds all day."
