The Backstreet Boys may be getting tepid reception for its new album "In A World Like This," but that doesn't mean people aren't too old for boy bands. Another turn-of-the-century phenomenon will be reuniting on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards: *NSync.

Justin Timberlake may have been the only former member that you've seen in the papers recently, but Lance Bass, J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick are ready to jump back into the spotlight, if only for the one night. The group was spotted hanging out in the V.I.P. area at Timberlake's recent Miami concert with Jay-Z. No word on what songs to expect from the troupe, but we're really hoping for "Tearing Up My Heart." Jon "Union Jack" Niles is hoping for "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays despite it being August.

*NSync went on an official hiatus following the group's 2002 "Celebrity" tour, and they haven't performed together since a Bee Gees medley at the 2003 Grammy Awards.

Timberlake will be shining for both his past and present work, as he tied with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for most nominations. Timberlake will also receive the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, given to artists who have "had a profound effect on the MTV culture."

The VMAs seem to be a one-up contest for hyped performances this year. Kanye West will make a record-tying seventh live performance at the ceremony, performing his new single "Black Skinhead," Robin Thicke will perform the year's second biggest single "Blurred Lines," and Lady Gaga will make the live debut of her new single "Applause."
