Taylor Swift's BFF Selena Gomez has yet to fully support her romance with Travis Kelce.
Swift and Gomez personally met for the first time when they went on a double date with Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas, respectively, in 2008. From there, they became BFFs who lean on each other following their heartbreaks after heartbreaks.
Selena Gomez Is Protective of Taylor Swift
A source recently spoke up about Gomez's wariness of Swift and Kelce's "whole thing," as she believes the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will break her BFF's heart just like what the previous men did.
The unnamed insider told Star Magazine (via OK! Magazine) that she is not sure about Kelce yet, despite the recent outings of the rumored couple. Per the report, the BFFs even had a meal in October to talk about the relationship.
"Selena is Taylor's best friend, so she brought up her concerns over dinner," the source added. "She wants to make sure Taylor is aware of how bonkers this all looks. She wants Taylor to see things from a different perspective and talk to her about how this romance started and where it could possibly go."
Since Gomez and Swift see each other as someone closer than sisters, the "Lose You To Love Me" singer is said to be planning to be protective of her as much as she can.

Taylor Swift Also Does the Same to Selena Gomez
Even before the recent source spoke about Swift and Gomez being each other's protectors, it had been known for years that the pair always have each other's back especially when it comes to their romances,
In their interview with WSJ Magazine in 2020, they reflected on their special relationship and why they are protective of themselves.
"I knew from when I met her I would always have her back," the "Anti-Hero" singer said. "In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don't know if I can forgive someone who hurts her."
Gomez, meanwhile, opened up about going through the same issues and heartbreaks together, and Swift reportedly taught her how she should be treated. Swift notably reacted to Gomez and Justin Bieber's on-and-off relationship and even threw shade at the "Yummy" singer at times.
