Nicki Minaj allegedly ditched a show in China, which she reportedly agreed to attend.

The promoter of a China show where Nicki Minaj was scheduled to perform slapped the rapper with a demand after the blunder. According to a report, it demanded $1.4 million in damages from the rapper.

What Happened to Nicki Minaj's China Show?

RadarOnline.com obtained the court documents in which BS Associates Company Limited - a Virgin Islands-based company - demanded that Nicki Minaj and Pink Personality give them an arbitration award.

BSA said Nicki Minaj's company agreed that the "Rake It Up" rapper would perform a show in Shanghai, so it transferred $1 million to her agent instead at ICM. Two weeks before the show, Nicki Minaj asked the company for the $250,000 to be released from the escrow account and got its approval.

However, she did not make her scheduled appearance.

As a result, BSA sent a notification to Pink Personality that it committed a breach of their agreement. It demanded the return of the deposited $1 million, but both the rapper and the company refused to respond.

This led the promoter to demand $1.4 million plus interest and other fees from Nicki Minaj.

The other party has yet to respond to the filing.

Nicki Minaj Was Scammed

In a similar event, Nicki Minaj reportedly flew to China in 2018 for a 90-minute appearance at the Djakarta Warehouse Project China festival. The event was set to happen days after it was accused of becoming an unauthorized spinoff of an event in Indonesia.

DWP released a statement saying that the China event used its branding without asking for permission.

"The event rumored to take place in Shanghai on the 17th & 18th of November 2018 is an unauthorized use of the DWP trademark," DWP International said. "DWP as a brand, has no association with the event."

Meanwhile, the Shanghai version said its event was legitimate that had been sanctioned by the DWP itself.

However, Nicki Minaj was unaware of what was happening when she flew to the country. After discovering the situation, she refused to perform in front of his fans.

"I'll be back you guys for my real fans, in Shanghai, in China. I love you so much,. And I'll be back with a better partner this time, okay?" she said in a video on Instagram after the controversy.
