Olivia Rodrigo is not only big in the world of music as she's also massive on social media. As of this writing, her Instagram followers are around 35.4 million. However, there's something unusual in her profile as she doesn't follow anyone.

More recently, the "Driver's License" songstress finally revealed the context behind her following count on the platform, saying it was due to a mistake in the past which she considered embarrassing.

The singer, who will go on a massive tour in 2024, recently appeared in an episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to explain the reason why she decided not to follow anyone on the platform despite her having millions of supporters.

The musician first gave a valid reason, saying having no one on her following list helps her get off her phone more often as she sometimes wants to take a break from social media.

"I try to follow zero people because it helps me be off of my phone, you know, off of social media," she explained.

Another reason was she had an embarrassing moment before when she stalked her ex then she accidentally hit the follow button.

"I accidentally followed him 'cause I was stalking him. And I was just following one person so it was super obvious that I was following him," she said.

Later on, one of her friends immediately went to her room to inform her about the mistake and things started going south from there.

"The second I opened the app, my phone died!... I couldn't find the charger so I was just following my ex for a while," she added.

Who Was the Ex That Olivia Rodrigo Talked About?

Although Olivia Rodrigo didn't explicitly mention which of her exes was the one she was talking about in the interview, some fans claim they knew who it was.

According to a fan who took to social media, it was Joshua Bassett, her co-star in the Disney show "High School Musical the Musical Series."

As of this writing, the singer has not confirmed whether the claims are true or not.

Aside from Bassett, other men who were linked to Rodrigo were Zack Bia, Adam Faze, Louis Patridge, and Ethan Wacker. (via Cosmopolitan Magazine)
