Blake Shelton offered a major goal to manage his drinking habits next year.

The former "The Voice" judge has long reiterated that, while he consumes alcohol, he never had a drinking problem. As he started building his family with Gwen Stefani, he also began working on himself to embrace his better version soon.

Blake Shelton Wants To Do Something With His Drinking Habits

A few weeks before the year ends, Shelton appeared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight and revealed the New Year's resolution he has in mind.

Among the things he wants to change, he wants to see something different in his alcohol habits.

"I haven't managed to stop drinking yet," he said. "Even cutting back has been hard. I mean, it's a resolution though. And I'll say it again right now - that's my New Year's resolution. To either cut back or stop drinking altogether. Let's just say I said it."

Over the past few years, Shelton's drinking habit has been in the spotlight.

In 2018, he sparked concerns when he fell on stage while performing at a music festival in Oregon. He tweeted the following day that he had been drinking at that time.

A report also emerged in 2017 suggesting that Stefani told him she would not marry him until he stopped drinking. As a result of the ultimatum, he reportedly lost 85 pounds and ultimately followed a no-drinking diet for months.

In 2015, InTouch Weekly published a story claiming that Shelton checked into rehab after his divorce from Miranda Lambert. The same post said he was "drinking vodka before noon" and that his friends were trying to get him help.

In response to the false article, he filed a $2 million lawsuit against the tabloid for defamation and false invasion of privacy.

"I do not drink excessively, binge drink, or have a drinking problem. I do not, as the Rehab Story alleges, drink vodka before 11:00 a.m. I am never drunk, intoxicated, or unable to perform my job on The Voice or elsewhere," he defended himself at that time.

Shelton also dismissed the claims that he started drinking when he was 14 to cope with his brother's death following a car accident.
