ASAP Rocky, the romantic partner of Rihanna and father of her two children, was mandated to appear in a Los Angeles court over two charges of severe assault with a semi-automatic firearm.

Rakim Mayers, also known as ASAP Rocky, aged 35, is accused of aiming a gun at Terell Ephron, an acquaintance from the hip-hop industry, during a bitter argument and then shooting twice in Ephron's direction during a second occurrence.

ASAP Rocky's Case

It happened on November 6, 2021.

As per the case laid out by prosecutors, despite being shot at by Mayers, Ephron sustained only minor injuries.

The District Attorney's Office has reported that Judge M.L. Villar of the Los Angeles Superior Court has ruled in favor of a trial being conducted on both counts of assault, which are alleged to involve Rocky and his use of a firearm.

This assessment was based on evidence collected by prosecutors.

The legal issue surrounding the Harlem-born musician was brought to light after he posted bond and pleaded not guilty.

In court, Joe Tacopina, his attorney, argued that the prosecution had failed to provide sufficient evidence linking him to the alleged shooting incident. To support his case, Tacopina drew on a few security videos and additional testimonials deemed inconclusive by the defense.
