Bobbie Jean Carter's cause of death has yet to be determined nearly a week after her tragic death.

TMZ exclusively reported Carter's death, citing a statement from her mother, Jane Carter, a year after Aaron Carter, 34, died in November 2022. The family also lost Leslie Carter, 25, in January 2012.

Bobbie Jean Carter's Cause of Death Deferred

According to the initial report, Bobbie Jean's cause of death was still unknown at the time of her passing, pending results. However, sources claimed the family believed she died from cardiac arrest, though the exact cause that triggered the health issue was not confirmed.

A few days later, a representative for the Florida Medical Examiner's Office informed RadarOnline.com of the completion of the autopsy and the delayed cause of death ruling due to pending toxicology results.

"Our office conducted the autopsy, and we are awaiting the family to make arrangements to have her released from our facility," the representative said, adding, "Autopsy reports may take four to five months or longer to complete."

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said the troubled 41-year-old was initially found unresponsive in her home's bathtub. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.

The same news outlet said Bobbie Jean was under probation after pleading guilty to drug possession and petty theft in Florida following a June incident. She also struggled with addiction and substance abuse issues through the years, which were seen on her family's TV series on E!, "House of Carters."

Further details regarding her passing will be shared in a fuller statement, per Jane. However, she also requested privacy for the whole family in order to grieve privately.

"[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother," the matriarch continued.

Jane lost Aaron on November 5, 2022. He was also found unresponsive in his bathtub by his housekeeper before the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled that the singer drowned in his bathtub after suffering from the effects of alprazolam, a generic Xanax.

He also inhaled compressed difluoroethane, and the mixed substances led him to be "incapacitated while in the bathtub" and slip under the water and drown.
