Fans shared eerie theories due to the similarities between Matthew Perry and Aaron Carter's deaths.
Carter shocked fans when news about his death on November 5, 2022 emerged. The "I'm All About You" singer's autopsy report showed that he died after drowning in the bathtub, where he was found unresponsive.
Following Perry's death, the public shared different opinions due to its similarities to the way Carter and other notable Hollywood stars passed away.
Matthew Perry and Aaron Carter Died in the Same Way?
On X, formerly Twitter, users dropped eerie theories that connected Perry's death to Carter's. Some also noted that the same thing happened to other celebrities, including Whitney Houston and Brian Jones.
One said, "Whitney Houston, Brian Jones, and Aaron Carter... all died from drowning and now Matthew Perry too? The music industry and Hollywood."
"Didn't Aaron Carter also go dark on social media for months, make 1-2 posts then die in the bathtub?" another wrote. "Matthew Perry had not posted on Instagram for 6 months until October, made some odd posts then was found dead in his jacuzzi. Coincidence?"
"Matthew Perry went the same way Aaron Carter did," another X user penned, while another added, "Question? Why are all these addicts being found dead in bath tubs and hot tubs? Whitney, Bobbi Christina, Aaron Carter, Matthew Perry..."
TMZ first reported the news, citing law enforcement sources, and confirmed that the "Friends" actor was found dead after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call regarding a water rescue emergency. According to LAPD spokesman Brian Humphrey, it was unclear what body of water the emergency occurred.

Sources confirmed that Perry died at his own home after playing a two-hour round of pickleball prior. His assistant, who went out on an errand, found him unresponsive at his jacuzzi two hours later.
The news outlet added that there were no drugs at the scene and no foul play was involved.
Carter faced a similar demise when he was also found dead in his bathtub, with the authorities ruling months later that he passed away due to drowning after taking alprazolam - a generic Xanax - and inhaling compressed difluoroethane.
After Perry's passing, his family released a statement to People expressing their heartbreak.
"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother," the family said. "Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend."
